At the end of the 19^th Century, great names like Lord Kelvin or Auguste Comte in France, proclaimed that everything had been discovered in physics and that " there is nothing left for future generations but to add a few figures after the comma ".
But then, at the beginning of the 20^th Century we saw the birth of great and revolutionary advances with the Theory of Relativity and Quantum Mechanics.

The Theory of Relativity has shown us that we do not live in a world which is Absolute and defined, no longer three-dimensional but with four dimensions. Gravitation is explained by the space-time curve, etc...
Quantum Mechanics itself, has made us see a world in which simple common sense is no longer tenable. It is impossible to know exactly both the speed and the position of a particle. We have either one or the other. The probabilities govern the quantum world...
But the most disturbing discovery is the fact that the observer is an integral part of every observation. The world can no longer be independent in relation to our consciousness.
From this, it would appear logical for Quantum Mechanics to concern itself with a better definition of what constitutes "CONSCIOUSNESS", a nebulous topic which researchers in "hard sciences" prefer to leave to the explorers of "soft science", neurologists, sociologists and other psycho…whatever.
Here then we should applaud the courage and audacity of those pioneers who have struggled to gain a foothold with which to advance into a new domain of research, that of Neuro-Quantology.

Amongst those, we will cite Mr. François MARTIN who has done us the honour of presenting his work with Mr. Belal E. Baaquie of Singapore :

Since these two major revolutions at he beginning of the 20^th Century, the only great theoretical advance has been with " Standard Model " aimed at describing the veritable " zoo of elementary particles ".

On the edge, we find the defenders of string theory or super-strings, of which expectations are high...
In our quest for the new Graal : The Theory Of Everything, which aims at unifying the four great forces of nature.
But in order to reach that, we need particle accelerators.. ever bigger and greater, ever more powerful... so, ever more money is needed... so, greater and greater patience...

Alongside these gigantic means, a few heretics search, by other means, often with very slender means...
As, for example :

All the scientific work of Mr. Maurice Allais concerning the domain of gravitation, of the speed of light and the anisotropy of space.

Maurice Allais, at first, carried out his own experiments which led him to posit the existence of phenomena which are incompatible with commonly accepted theories. He drew his own conclusions according to which the speed of light does not have a constant value but varies ( slightly ) according to direction. This led him to conclude in the existence of "ether" and the anisotropy of space.

Later on, and in order to accord well with his own findings, Maurice Allais was drawn to re-examine in detail the results of experiments conducted in the past in the same field in the U.S.A. by Michelson and Morley in 1887, by Morley and Miller in 1902, 1904 and 1905, and by Miller in 1925, 1926 and 1930. He was able by this to assert that these results contained the same anomalies which had escaped the attention of the experimentalists of the time or else had simply been ignored.

Maurice Allais affirms today with energy that these anomalies are real and indisputable and that they call into question the laws of relativity, as dicovered by Lorentz and Poincaré, and best known under the name of Einstein's Law.

In the field of registering patents, everything to do with perpetual movement has been systematically rejected. It is in fact formally prohibited to contradict the laws of Physics. At the same time, many researchers and inventers have been and are still in search of what in physics is what the "philosopher's stone" was to alchemy.
In the past, there is at least one disturbing case :

It is explained to us that no perpetual movement machine can exist on pain of violating the laws of thermodynamics which are by now perfectly and indisputably established. But can one not extrapolate a system utilising the considerable energy from a quantum void or, again, a force which would appear to inexhaustible, almost eternal : gravitation ?
