UFOs

UFOs are, without doubt
the most important phenomena for humanity
ad the least studied...
( 1 )
If you came straight to this page, go and look at the UFO chapter on the page dedicated to
heretics in Ufology.
The term UFO has now passed into common parlance meaning an Extra-Terrestrial Vehicle, but behind this term are hidden
numerous epiphenomenon.
Unidentified Flying objects have thus become a sort of box room into which are thrown indiscriminately
natural phenomena and others for which we do not have as yet any explanation. These latter may be classified into two
sub-categories, natural or artificial ?
Unidentified Aerial Phenomena are a subject which excites passions
and is always very controversial, which in itself has led it into the realm of belief, for which read faith.
( 2 )
Believe in them ? Not believe in them ?
This dichotomy to my mind is a totally obsolete debate.
In no way do I try to convince anyone of anything.
Nothing can convince someone who does not want to be. ( 3 )
When I was a child, I witnessed a luminous phenomenon in the sky one fine summer night ;
I was convinced then that it was a UFO. I learnt later that it was a perfectly natural phenomenum, and it was years later that I was,
personally and professionally, on different occasions, faced with "real UFOs". As an amateur Astronomer, ex- military air traffic controller,
a pilot and now an ATC in Civil Aviation, I have nothing more than my own human perspective to bear witness.
Military Personnel are sworn to secrecy for reasons of defence ; the Civil Servant has to respect what is classified as official information,
consequently neither time nor place can be divulgated ; clearly no radar/radio recordings can be transmitted.
Pilots generally decline to file reports on UFOs for fear of problems internal to the company which employs them
( 4 ) and the possible withdrawal of a certificate of medical fitness.
( 5 )
By the way, we should note here that only retired pilots have spoken about UFOs : now isn't that curious ?
(at least in France)
I am presumptuous enough then to say that I know, that UFOs/UAP
( Unidentified Aerial Phenomena ) exist, but what I don't know is what these phenomena are :
- Extra-terrestrial Vehicules ?
Apparently metallic objects leaving some trace on the ground.
- Secret militaires Prototypes ?
The Aurora project, the TR-3B, for example and most of them, Drones. But, if they are prototypes, demos of new technology,
one must still assume that they are compatible with the science ad the understanding of the past 50 years at least.
- Atmospheric Manifestations as yet unknown to science ?
The "critters", the lights in the 'Hessdalen Valley", or the lights bubbles of plasma accompanying earth tremors might be classified in this
category for example.
- Manifestations of a parallel universe ?
- Temporal Anomalies ?
- ... ?

Notes :
1 :
This is a perfect example of Scientific dogmatism doing great harm to all, not only in keeping people ignorant but also in the tragic facts
connected with 'suicides' or rather, the collective murders associated with certain sects.

2 :
So, as in the Glozel affair, for example, there are the believers and the non-believers.
Over many years, I have noticed how the question of UFOs raises a lot of passion, as much among its adherents as
among the "ANTIs". Passion has a way sometimes of obscuring reflexion.

3 :
Even at the beginning of the 20th Century there were people who believed that the Earth was flat : Alain Gerbaud,
on the first solo round the world trip, spent some days in prison during his stay in Capetown in South Africa,
on charges of heresy - he had announced to the port authorities that he was encircling the globe !
back
4 :
A number of pilots who have dared speak about UFOs have been sacked for having brought the name of their company into ill repute.
In fact, the public has to keep a positive image of flight crews.
Who would want to fly with pilots who were the victims of hallucinations ?
back
5 :
Officially, UFOs do not exist ! Thus, if a pilot should report having seen one, either he/she is victim of an hallucination or else
he/she was beguiled by some natural phenomenon which he/she wasn't able to identify. Consequently, by reporting such things,
he/she riskes losing their flying licence and any future prospect of working.
Since no human witness can be held as conclusive proof, why go to the trouble of making a declaration which will add nothing
constructive to the UFO dossier and only constitute a professional risk ?
It is then only when pilots retire that they dare speak out or where they are confident of having a radar correlation to their
own personal witness, since radar is not subject to hallucinations.
